Just as she had done in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II tournament, junior forward Chelsea Palmer scored the game-winner.
In the semifinals it was a penalty kick in the 101st minute of a double overtime victory over defending national champion Saint Rose.
In the final, it came in the 77th minute off an assist from Sashana Campbell giving West Florida a 1-0 victory over Cal San Diego. It was Palmer’s 16th goal of the season that gave the Argonauts their first national championship.
