STATE DIRECTOR OF COACHING

Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona the Arizona Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce acceptance of candidates for its first full-time State Director of Coaching. The Arizona Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) Director of Coaching (DOC) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, directing and managing all aspects of AYSA’s programs for player development, coaching education, and membership growth as directed by the AYSA President.

The DOC will implement strategies to increase the recreational and competitive player base by promoting AYSA throughout the state of Arizona. The DOC will organize and conduct coaching education courses to for the benefit of member organizations to increase the quantity and quality of AYSA’s coaching staff. The DOC will administer and develop the state’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) through increasing awareness of program benefits, improving ODP staff, and developing and implementing a plan improve player capabilities. The DOC will ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of USSF, USYS, and AYSA as they apply to AYSA and its member organizations.

The DOC will report directly to AYSA’s President and may also from time to time report to the VP Development and/or the VP Competition and/or the VP Recreation as directed by the President. The DOC will be required to attend Board Meetings as a non-voting member. The DOC will also provide to the President a monthly Activity Report defining accomplishments achieved against measurable objectives. The report will also include activity plans for the ensuing 13 weeks.

As a salaried position, the DOC will be expected to work hours and days necessary to accomplish his/her objectives with regular weekend and evening work expected. Travel throughout the state is also a prerequisite for the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
• USSF ‘A’ license
• USSF National Youth license
• Proven communication skills including written, communication, presentation, and computer
• Proven ability to work with little supervision
• Right to work in the USA (unrestricted)
• Dynamic, outgoing personality

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS
• Spanish language fluency
• Bachelor’s degree (or better) in business or administration
• DOC experience with proven results of growing an organization
• College coaching experience
• Region IV Olympic Development Program coaching experience
