West Virginia Women #1; ACC Has Five In Top 15

The Atlantic Coast Conference leads all leagues with six women’s soccer teams among the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Preseason Top 25 – including five teams ranked among the top 15.

West Virginia is ranked #1 in the preseason poll, while the Southeast Conference has three teams ranked in the top 10. south Carolina is ranked #4, while the The Florida Gators are #7 and Auburn enters the preseason at #10.

2016 College Cup semifinalist North Carolina begins the season ranked #6, while Virginia, Duke and Clemson follow at #11, #12 and #13, respectively. Reigning ACC Champion and preseason league favorite Florida State is ranked 15th. Notre Dame rounds out the ACC’s six teams at #18.

The ACC’s seven teams ranked in the Preseason Top 25 follows the announcement of the league’s preseason coaches poll and all-ACC team.

ACC women’s soccer teams begin preseason training this week and will kick off the 2017 season on Friday, Aug. 18.
