Spirit Hires Parsons
Mark Parsons will serve as the head coach for Washington Spirit Reserves W-League team for the 2013 season. Following a successful stint at the helm of D.C. United Women Super-20 squad last year, Parsons assumes the lead role in developing the direct feeder team for the professional NWSL Washington Spirit.
National League Adds 14s
The US Youth Soccer National League has added the Under-14 Boys and Girls age groups for the 2013-2014 season. Like the current U-15 through U18 age groups, the U-14s will consist of 16 teams divided into two divisions, with each team playing a round robin schedule against the other seven teams in their division.
U.S. U-15 BNT Camp
U.S. under-15 BNT coach Tony Lepore called up 32 players (1998 age group) for an eight-day training camp at the Home Depot Center. Included is Joe Gallardo Jr., who was previously a member of Nomads SC before moving to Monterrey in Mexico, and Joshua Perez, who recently trained at AC Milan.
